Chronicles of Tarnished Guardians is a free-to-play fantasy action RPG in which you can earn your own Throne of Elden by leading a Guild to rule a brand new world, the Lands Between. You will also meet characters and develop your own story as you play through the game’s various dungeons.
Please pay close attention to how the game’s contents and services operate.
Usage of this title will be subject to the TOS (the Game Rules of “Chronicles of Tarnished Guardians”).
*The following equipment can be added to a character:
1) Heroic Weapon
2) Hanging Cutlass
3) Hero’s Armor
4) Rank 3 Signature Weapon
5) Tarnished Cutlass
* Characters can be leveled up based on the experience they earn when they fight monsters.
* When a character acquires a new Heroic Weapon, it will change the appearance of the character.
* In Chronicles of Tarnished Guardians, a new attribute called Mastery is added as a new way for characters to change their gameplay through the accumulation of experience points.
* A Character can equip and use multiple Hero’s Armor for a total of four.
* When items are upgraded to rank 3, the attack power of weapons and magic will increase.
* When character’s attain a new Hero’s Armor, the character’s appearance will also be changed.
* The Hanging Cutlass is now obtainable from Expedition Rifts.
* When a Hanging Cutlass is equipped, its appearance will also be changed.
* A Tradeable Companion is included in the game, as a way to enhance character stat growth and gameplay. A Tradeable Companion can be obtained by making a payment of a certain amount.
* Legendaries can be obtained based on a preset ratio to your level.
* In Chronicles of Tarnished Guardians, there are two Legendaries, one at the Rookie and the other at the Master level.
* When a Legendary is acquired, it will change the appearance of a character.
* In order to acquire a Legendary, you will have to make a certain amount of Tradeable Companions and then send them to the Expedition Rifts to acquire it.
* Once acquired, it will be Tradeable and can be acquired/sold to other players.

So I got my copy this morning and was happy to get it. Unfortunately there was an issue at the AppStore. It took nearly two weeks for Apple to correct the problem. What the developers did, was to incorrectly classify the scene system.
What kind of “play” exactly is it? It’s the story of a game you can play, and I see the same thing in the New World. Sadly it’s a one way road to ride and this bit of marketing changed it to being an “interactive” game.
Let me be clear. I do not begrudge the developers for their marketing strategy. I understand the whole idea of having the scene play be a part of your experience, but it is also an important part of what this game is. It’s easy to take out some of the more pointless and easy to explain parts of the scene, but it’s still a game, and it’s still a game play experience.
Oh. That’s right. It’s an RPG. It’s a turn based RPG. That’s what I expected when I downloaded it. Turns are triggered by pressing buttons and that’s about it. I could understand a developer wanting to label it that way so that people wouldn’t think it was like Zelda.
So, don’t be put off and download it. It’s still a great game. It’s just that no one on the AppStore should think it’s a game they’re missing out on. It’s an RPG. A RPG experience.
The AppStore description doesn’t tell you that you’ll be playing a character in a game. It tells you a story. A story that is full of all those things we love from RPGs. It’s a decent looking game. It’s got a lot of different “interactive” scenes, and the image of the blade falling from the sky perfectly captures the feeling of fighting the dragon.
