The purpose of the Hi-Hat Choker (Directional) is to provide a Hi-Hat controller that can be used with a MIDI loopback device. This plugin (Hi-Hat Choker) will work by delaying the note off for the hi-hat when it encounters a closed or open hi-hat note. This means that you do not need to hold down a open hi-hat note.
Let’s say that you are playing a song in which the hi-hat is an open hi-hat. The hi-hat note(s) hit, the note-off for that hi-hat is delayed until the next Hi-Hat note. For example,

When I use the midi output to loop tracks, which works pretty well, i lose control of my reverb and delay settings for that track when i select the looped track in the midi sequencer. This is when I switch to my ‘Deselect’.

In this case, I think that there is a problem on your mac.
What you have done is that you have stoped the MIDI output of your Midi Loopback device.
In that case, you have set a track on the “Deselect” device which is the “Default” device.
In order to avoid this case, you can leave the track as “Deselect” while you have your MIDI Loopback device installed.
You can also configure the MIDI Loopback to make a continuos loop with zero time if you want to set up a loop in which you have several looper tracks.
I must add that in the case of you don’t have the Midi Loopback device installed, there is no problem on your computer.
Why don’t we have something in addition to a “Deselect” option?
Since a loop feature is common to most sequencers, this feature should be added to all sequencers.
On the Mac a track can only be assigned to a MIDI device if it is also assigned to a sequencer track.
If you select a looped track in the sequencer, the MIDI device is then assigned to the track, but the audio is routed to the default device.

This version has the ability to read samples from a MIDI file, or start and stop playback of a MIDI file.
Playback works like a traditional MIDI sequencer. The selection bar represents the current MIDI file, or you can load a MIDI file from file using the button at the top of the screen.
If you click on the MIDI note and then hit ‘DEL’ the note will be automatically delayed until it next encounters a closed hi-hat note, or pedal hi-hat note.
If you click on the MIDI note and then hit ‘INS’ the note will be automatically released.
This MIDI track can be set to start playing the next sample at each note-off of the track. To do this you simply press ‘START’ then click on the note you want to play next and hit the ‘DEL’ key. The note will be delayed until it next encounters a closed hi-hat, or pedal hi-hat.
If you press ‘STOP’ the MIDI track will stop playing the next sample at each note-off of the track.
This is a very easy MIDI filter to use and I have seen no limitations to what can be done with this filter, there are many different ways to use it to your advantage.
Please note: this is a simple MIDI filter that will work with MIDI files, not audio files.

This is a delay effect that adds a customised delay time to each of the notes that make up the chord.
Delay time can be set in milliseconds or seconds, using the MIDI clock as the basis for timing.
Hi Hat Choker creates a larger “howl” than the standard delay, and can also be used to create percussive sounds.
The “choking” is controlled by the “Note On” and “Note Off” pitch amount that specifies how much of the note is heard when the note is in the “on” state. When “Note On” pitch is set to 0%, the note is played normally. However, when “Note On” pitch is set to 100%, the note is played completely muted.
Using the “Note Off” pitch lets you control the duration of the note. The more “off” the note is, the longer the note’s decay time.
When “Note Off” pitch is set to 100%, you will hear a “chocking” effect, where the note’s frequency is being progressively filtered. The more “off” the note is, the longer the note’s frequency is being filtered.
You can set a “Cut Off” pitch value, which determines how much of the note’s frequency is passed through the filter. The higher the “Cut Off” pitch, the greater the amount of the note that is filtered.
Hi Hat Choker can be used as a “Hud” that shows the Hi Hat Choker’s “Note On” and “Note Off” settings in real-time. You can also use the “Cut Off” value to set a custom threshold value, which specifies the amount of time that must pass before the note’s frequency becomes muted, and thus is considered to be “off”.
Parameters:
Delay Time (ms): The amount of time that is added to each note in the chord.
Note On Pitch: The amount of the note frequency that is passed through the filter.
Note Off Pitch: The amount of the note frequency that is filtered out.
Cut Off Pitch: The amount of note frequency that is filtered out.
NOTE: Choker does not use the standard delay. It adds a dynamic filter effect instead, and this needs to be matched against the amount of note frequency that is passed through the filter.
