Applying Photoshop: Making Images Obvious

To make images “obvious,” Photoshop uses layer masks, adding and subtracting filters on a layer, to build up or subtract from an image. These layers can be modified, blended with one another, and edited with transparency.

Make an Image Less Obvious

To make an image less obvious, use the Blur or Gaussian Blur filter to smooth out jagged edges. Use the Dodge or Burn filter to “lift” a neutral image. Make a satin finish with the Refine Edge filter, remove shadows with the Dodge or Burn filter, or bring up the contrast of an image with Curves.

Enhance an Image’s Details

You can add and change details with the Healing tool in the Adjustments panel. Or, you can change contrast with the Levels tool or brightness with Levels.

Enhance an Image’s Shadows

To make an image’s shadows stronger or less pronounced, use the Dodge or Burn tool. When you use the Dodge tool, use an Exposure setting of 0%, which makes shadows blacker and brighter objects lighter.

Brighten an Image’s Highlights

Use the Exposure or Levels tool to brighten the highlights in an image, making objects look brighter. Exposure settings of 0% or 100% make the entire image brighter and darker; 100% brightens only the object, while 0% brightens the object and the shadows.

Add Effects

You can add effects using layers. For example, if you wanted to add a watermark to an image, you would create a new layer and then type in a watermark as text.

You can also layer images, such as placing a photo over a patterned background or a photo over a colored one. You can also use one photo as a background for another, such as placing a photo on a wood or metal background.

These layers work with transparency, so you can watch the color of the photo underneath. In a situation like this, where you’re aiming for a specific look, it’s usually best to build the image up layer by layer, making minor alterations as you go.

Vivid Images

With an array of vibrant colors, saturation, and intense intensity, this gradation in beauty captures the essence of Japanese beauty.

Learn how to use Photoshop Elements

Let’s begin with the installation process.

We’ll begin with the installation of the software on our Windows PC.

The program will not run unless you have Photoshop installed.

Close all the programs that are running on your computer.

Most of the programs that we use require Microsoft Windows.

Download the Photoshop Elements by clicking here.

In the installation wizard, press the “Next” button.

Follow the on-screen instructions and complete the installation.

It may ask you to reboot your computer.

When the installation is complete,

Open Photoshop Elements, the program you just installed and you will see Photoshop Elements for the first time.

Photoshop Elements Editor for Windows

The interface is very similar to Photoshop, but quite different and with its own features. To access the main features you can minimize and maximize the window by clicking on the top right corner.

The interface of the program is divided into two parts, the interface layer and the editing layer.

The interface layer has been designed to show images with an interface that is very similar to Photoshop.

In the editing layer there are a number of tools and functions that can be used to edit or create images.

If we go to the File menu

We can create new documents from existing images or from blank document templates.

When we create a new document we have three options:

Save the document with the current settings; Save the document with the new settings; Save a copy of the document.

High-Quality mode helps us to improve the quality of the image by up to 100%, so that the image looks very sharp and clear. This option can be useful when we want to edit a photo that we can not adjust visually.

Why does my (findOneAndUpdate) query always return null?

My problem is, that the returned data is null always, even if a user with given id is in the database.
What am I doing wrong?
app.controller(“WorkCtrl”, function( $scope, WL ) {
var user = WL.User.findOneAndUpdate({ id: 1 },
{ $set: { name: ‘name’ }, $addToSet: { organization: ‘organization’ } },
{ returnOriginal: false },
{ upsert: true, multi: true });

console.log(user); // returns null

That’s just how it is; any changes you do (insert/update/delete) on the server are asynchronous to the call that is made to get the user. If you want to make sure you have the data updated on your client before printing to console, you need to make a few changes.
You can either log the result of the query to the console directly after executing it, like so:
app.controller(“WorkCtrl”, function( $scope, WL ) {
var user = WL.User.findOneAndUpdate({ id: 1 },
{ $set: { name: ‘name’ }, $addToSet: { organization: ‘organization’ } },
{ returnOriginal: false },
{ upsert: true, multi: true });
console.log(user); // returns null

Or, if you absolutely must have the data updated on the client, you can manually trigger a refresh of the data on the client. This would look like so:
app.controller(“WorkCtrl”, function( $scope, WL ) {
var refreshUser = function( user ) {
WL.User.findOneAndUpdate({ id: 1 },
{ $set: { name: ‘name’ }, $addToSet: { organization: ‘organization’ } },
{ returnOriginal: false },
{ upsert: true, multi: true });
console.log(user); // returns null

var user = W

sql count(*) – select all rows

How can I count all rows in a table with count (*), rather than count (1)?
What is the difference between count (*) and count(1)?

The count function itself doesn’t do anything.
From the documentation

The COUNT function returns the number of nonzero, nonnull values within its argument.

And from the description of count (1) in MSDN

The COUNT function is equivalent to the following expression:

select count(*) from TableName

So to get the number of rows use count (1)
