The Linux TPMv1.2 and OpenSSL 11.9.x drivers are distributed in the form of tar.gz and unpacked with a./configure and make (or similar) script to compile the drivers.
The Makefile is configured to install the Python bindings and the linux TPMv1.2 driver in /usr/local/bin, as the default installation path is not the root of the linux operating system.
The installation script creates symbolic links for the python driver and the python library so that the Python module can be used by the python shell.
A very similar installation script, with the RPM installation method for Debian, can be found in the source code of the package.
The reason for this is that the HP drivers are not built as any kind of RPM, as it is not required for them to operate correctly. RPMs are for standalone packages.
The Embedded Security for HP ProtectTools and the Infineon Trusted Platform Module (TPM) driver package can be installed via RPM.
In the following steps, we assume that you are running CentOS 7.
1. Install some prerequisite packages:
This step allows us to install the python TPMv1
