## 1.3.2 Precedence Constraints
The most common constraint to a command (subroutine) is that the parent command must be executed before the command can be executed. If a command is specified as a prerequisite to the execution of another command, the command runs before the prerequisite. This is called a precedence constraint. The order of execution of commands is in the following order:
Substitute parent commands
When a command uses an action as a prerequisite, the action runs after the command and the prerequisite. This is called an action constraint. A prerequisite that is not in the list of action constraints, or is an invalid command or an action, will fail the command.
An action is only run if it is not on the action list of any of the action constraints in the command, or the parent command is an action. In other words, the action constraint forces the action to run, but only if there are no other constraints or conditions that would prevent it from running.
In AutoCAD commands are coded to process control sets and it is up to the user to ensure that actions are run only when they are required to be. We will show an example here for Autodesk Revit:

## 1.3.3 Block Constraints
The Block constraint is a type of command that is run before the execution of a command. These commands are used for system validation, and also to change the selection type of a command. The Block command runs before the command and can be used to change the block that is displayed as a selection method. There are several types of block constraints:
Import the.kdbx file
Open the.kdbx file with the Autocad.kdbx template. The template will be in the Autodesk Autocad standard templates folder.
Save the.kdbx file with a.kdbx file extension.
Save this file on the desktop.
Step 2: Running the.kdbx file
Click on the Autocad.kdbx template.
Click on the New Project button.
In the Open dialog, locate your newly created Autocad.kdbx file and open it.
Your.kdbx file will now be displayed in the New project dialog.
Close the dialog.
Step 3: Modifying the.kdbx file
In the new project dialog, select Change from the View menu.
In the Project view, select an object to change. You can also select an entire view, from bottom to top, to modify.
Change the object as you need.
To change an object at the same time as selecting all objects, or an entire view, select Change from the View menu. In the Project view, highlight all objects (shift-click or control-click the mouse to select multiple objects) and click the Change All button. The objects will be selected at the same time. Then select an object or an entire view to modify.
