Equipped with the right applications, a computer can be of great help in virtually any domain of activity. When it comes to designing and precision, no other tool is as accurate as a computer. Moreover, specialized applications such as AutoCAD give you the possibility to design nearly anything ranging from art, to complex mechanical parts or even buildings.
Suitable for business environments and experienced users
After a decent amount of time spent installing the application on your system, you are ready to fire it up. Thanks to the office suite like interface, all of its features are cleverly organized in categories. At a first look, it looks easy enough to use, but the abundance of features it comes equipped with leaves room for second thoughts.
Create 2D and 3D objects
You can make use of basic geometrical shapes to define your objects, as well as draw custom ones. Needless to say that you can take advantage of a multitude of tools that aim to enhance precision. A grid can be enabled so that you can easily snap elements, as well as adding anchor points to fully customize shapes.
With a little imagination and patience on your behalf, nearly anything can be achieved. Available tools allow you to create 3D objects from scratch and have them fully enhanced with high-quality textures. A powerful navigation pane is put at your disposal so that you can carefully position the camera to get a clearer view of the area of interest.
Various export possibilities
Similar to a modern web browser, each project is displayed in its own tab. This comes in handy, especially for comparison views. Moreover, layouts and layers also play important roles, as it makes objects handling a little easier.
Sine the application is not the easiest to carry around, requiring a slightly sophisticated machine to properly run, there are several export options put at your disposal so that the projects itself can be moved around.
Aside from the application specific format, you can save as an image file of multiple types, PDF, FBX and a few more. Additionally, it can be sent via email, directly printed out on a sheet of paper, or even sent to a 3D printing service, if available.
To end with
All in all, AutoCAD remains one of the top applications used by professionals to achieve great precision with projects of nearly any type. It encourages usage with incredible offers for student licenses so you get acquainted with its abundance of features early on. A lot can be said about what it can and can't do, but the true surprise lies in discovering it step-by-step.

AutoCAD is a commercial computer-aided design (CAD) and drafting software application. Developed and marketed by Autodesk, AutoCAD was first released in December 1982 as a desktop app running on microcomputers with internal graphics controllers. Before AutoCAD was introduced, most commercial CAD programs ran on mainframe computers or minicomputers, with each CAD operator (user) working at a separate graphics terminal. AutoCAD is also available as mobile and web apps.
AutoCAD’s traditional interface features a ribbon with several tabs that allow users to navigate the toolbars and controls, set preferences, and view, create, edit, and print. The program also has a design center. The center features a suite of templates and libraries for creating AutoCAD drawings.
All AutoCAD users should have a subscription to the Autodesk Complete Academic & Government Subscription Program. It includes a wealth of online content, educational discounts, and tools such as AutoCAD and AutoCAD LT. Students, professors, and teachers can also download and use AutoCAD for free.
In this article, we will show you how to use AutoCAD. First, we will discuss the basics and the components of the software. Then, we will provide you a detailed step-by-step tutorial, explaining how to draw a simple object and how to edit it. We will also take you through creating a new drawing. Finally, we will teach you how to print your work.

2. Components of AutoCAD
Before you start using AutoCAD, you need to know the components, their purpose, and the parts. All AutoCAD components are accessible in the Options menu. Let us start with the basic components.
2.1. Basic Component
The Basic component is the most basic unit of the drawing. It contains no objects or layers. Every new drawing begins with a Basic component, which can be turned into any other type of component.
2.2. Object Component
Object components include objects and layers. Layers are used to separate objects. In AutoCAD, layers can contain text, paths, and other objects. All objects, whether simple or

Datasets – AutoCAD only accepts parts of a drawing as a file. To import a file or file group containing a part as a dataset, see the individual dataservers for guidance. Datasets are also automatically saved on export to the Windows clipboard.
Customization – AutoCAD uses a relatively complicated scheme for customization. It is more complicated than most other software because it uses an architecture of drawing macros that are saved as temporary files.
GDS 2, GIS (Geographic Data Systems) and other 3D data formats – AutoCAD supports various data formats used in different geographic information systems (GIS) and 3D data. The supported formats include a number of Microsoft formats such as WMTS, KML, JPEG, ZIP, CADT, and others. See the GeoLoader plugin for more information.
Scheduling – The scheduling feature of AutoCAD is a sophisticated feature that is unique to the program. It allows you to create and manage AutoCAD drawings with a scheduling functionality. The main features include the ability to specify finish, duration, sequence, and visibility of tasks, as well as the ability to send drawings to the Windows Clipboard, all without user intervention.
This feature is similar to the Microsoft Excel® Workbook Protection feature, which allows an authorized user to specify which users have access to a drawing, which viewing options are available, whether a document is protected, and whether users can print, copy, or email the document.
The Scheduling feature, on the other hand, is used to create a schedule of specific actions within the drawing that takes place on an auto or manual basis. It includes the ability to create schedules with a duration and at a given point in time (auto), or at a scheduled time (manual).
AutoCAD’s scheduling feature uses a list of actions that are displayed in the Action List and that trigger specific activities such as scheduling, which can be easily edited through the project properties.
The main difference between AutoCAD’s scheduling feature and Microsoft Excel’s is that AutoCAD’s scheduling feature does not define actions or events. Instead, it controls the execution of the same actions and events that users can see in the Action List when editing drawings.
For example, if you want to require an additional drawing of a bay to be created before a section drawing can be created, you can create an action in the action list (see the screenshot above), which when clicked will schedule the drawing of the bay.

Last week, I reported on today’s interesting news that a new set of platforms will be appearing for the EU LCS teams, and today’s news is an update on the new platforms that is surely not going to be a disappointment to you.
A recent announcement by Riot Games revealed a new system for their professional League of Legends division, which they call “Rivalcade.” In Rivalcade, every team will have a primary account, and four substitute accounts to which they can switch when they are needed. These accounts will be virtual representations of the team’s players.
The substitute accounts will be a part of the original team’s legacy, and be the same “main” account on which the player used to play, even though it’s an account that is owned by Riot Games and their players will be using them.
I already explained the reason for having a single
